Rowlette Texas

Rowlett, Texas is an excellent place for a weekend getaway. The town is located on the banks of Rowlett Creek, a tributary of the east fork of the Trinity River. The town grew from cotton gins and railroads after the Civil War. Its first post office opened on April 5, 1880, for Postmaster Austin Morris.

Rowlett is located on Interstate 30 and President George Bush Turnpike. The city is also conveniently located to several major business corridors, including the Dallas/Fort Worth area and the Telecom Corridor. The city has over 1,100 acres of commercial space available for development and boasts a highly educated workforce. In addition, Rowlett consistently ranks among the safest cities in Texas. Rowlett is a great place to start if you’re looking for a new place to call home.

In 1978, Rowlett had a population of 5,100 people. In the 1960s, Interstate Highway 30 was constructed around the city. By the 1970s, the city received water from Lake Ray Hubbard. The city has several recreational opportunities near the lake. In addition, the city has a DART station and is located off of Interstate 30.

Rowlett is home to a vibrant photography community and boasts regional award-winning photographers. The town is home to a photography club founded by Jim Zeilan, Tony Morrison, and Ronald McCarty. Children in Rowlett attend schools within the Garland and Rockwall Independent School Districts. There are several elementary schools and middle schools located in the city.

Rowlett is one of the few Texas communities recognized as a Playful City. The Texas Economic Development Council recognized the city for its outstanding efforts in community economic development. The town also engages the fire and police departments to visit local businesses annually. This ensures that citizens receive accurate information on the city’s business community.

Home values in Rowlett are above average compared to other cities in the area. The median home price in January 2022 was $375K, which is close to the median home price in Dallas. While these values may seem high, Rowlett’s proximity to Dallas allows residents to enjoy access to the city without the high cost of living in the larger city.

Rowlett, TX’s population comprises a mixture of native and foreign-born residents. Most residents in Rowlett are White, but many are black and Hispanic. The median age in Rowlett is 39, and a typical family consists of three members.  Our experience is that each family is more charming than the last.  😉
