Lyndon B. Johnson State Park & Historic Site

You can enjoy both historical and nature studies at Lyndon B. Johnson State Park – a great place to see Texas longhorn cattle and go fishing. The park’s Visitor Center features memorabilia from President Johnson‘s presidency and interactive displays of the land and its people. You can also tour the historic Sauer-Beckman Farmstead.

The Park also features the LBJ Ranch. It is an authentic working farm where you can see the daily lives of people who shaped Texas history. The LBJ Ranch also features recreational facilities including fishing in the Pedernales River and a nature trail. The park is home to several species of animals, including American bison, Texas longhorn cattle, and White-tailed deer.

Visitors can take a self-guided tour of the ranch. They can learn about the life of the 36th president by exploring the one-room school and ranch buildings. There are also descendants of the cattle that President Johnson once farmed. The park also has a cemetery for Johnson family members.
