Village Creek State Park

In the Piney Woods of eastern Texas, you’ll find Village Creek State Park. Located near the city of Lumberton in Hardin County, this heavily forested park was established in 1994. It takes its name from the Village Creek, a clean tributary of the Neches River.

The park is located in an area known as the Big Thicket, which means you’ll find plenty of natural attractions nearby. The park is also close to a variety of shops and restaurants. The park is open seven days a week. If you’re hungry, stop by the Village Creek Lodge for prime steaks and an outstanding barbecue.

The hike begins by taking U.S. Highway 69/96 south. After 0.4 miles, turn right on Alma Drive. This road will take you to the park entrance. It crosses railroad tracks and leads to the park entrance. The trail is very easy to follow and will have many views of the area.

A free-flowing stream flows through the park, providing excellent swimming and other aquatic activities. The park is also home to an indoor nature center and hiking trails. Visitors can enjoy a variety of activities in this park, and the park is a great destination for families. And if you don’t like swimming, there are also several other activities for children.

Village Creek State Park trails are excellent for walking, hiking, and mountain biking. And they’re ideal for watching wildlife in their natural habitat. If you love wildlife, there’s even a two-mile hiking trail that follows the Trail of Tears. You can also go horseback riding in the park.

Wildlife is plentiful in the area, including snapping turtles, opossums, and diamondback water snakes. There are also many bird species in the area. You can also fish for catfish, bass, perch, and panfish. This park is great for a day-trip, or for a more active weekend.

The Village Creek RV Park offers numerous water and electric campsites. There is also a trailer dump station. There are also several walk-in tent sites, some located close to the water. The park also has ADA restrooms at its headquarters. You can even hire a guide to guide you through the nature trails. The park also has a group picnic pavilion with seating for 80 people, barbecue pit, and electricity. There is also an ADA restroom with showers.
