New Providence is a borough located at the northern edge of Union County , United States. It is situated on the Passaic River which forms the county border with Morris County and Chatham Township. The 2010 United States Census showed that the population had increased by 264 (+2.2%) over the 11,907 people in 2000 Census. This was a 468 (+4.1%) increase from the 11,439 in 1990 Census.
It is home to a large portion of the Murray Hill neighbourhood, with the rest in the neighboring Berkeley Heights. The NJ Transit has service at the New Providence and Murray Hill stations.
